The "Open Ocean Lab" is an open experimental workshop for all people from the Rostock region who are interested in marine technologies. No matter whether you are a citizen of the region, study here, have completed your studies or represent a company - we look forward to your interest and your participation. We especially invite people who have their own development idea in the field of maritime technologies, perhaps even plan to found a company. Feel free to contact us and arrange to use our lab - with free access to the tools and technical equipment there, but also our support with know-how to implement your marine technology idea. 
Complementing the Ocean Open Lab itself, we regularly offer interesting events - hackathons, demo days and workshops on changing topics. The "Lab'n Breakfast" regulars' tables, which are of interest to citizens and experts alike, have also become very popular.

Our formats/offers briefly introduced:

"Lab `n` Breakfast" - The regular breakfast table: Every last Thursday of the month, our Makerspace invites all interested people to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere around the topics of maritime economy, technology and startup foundation, to ask questions and to benefit from the experiences of others.

The HACKATHON: Even if the name would suggest it, there is no hacking or coding at our SEAHACK Hackathon. In fact, very little computer work takes place. Instead, there will be tinkering with technical devices, for three days and with the help of state-of-the-art tools and in a relaxed atmosphere. People of all ages are invited to participate: students, pupils, entrepreneurs, employees, citizens, pensioners.  

Demo Day: This event offers companies, scientists and start-ups (or those who want to become one) the opportunity to learn about the latest industry trends - and to do so as practically as possible.
